    • Handmade felt and cloth sewing kit made by a member of the Coeur d’ Alene tribe. Outside of piece is made out of a pink floral fabric with purple felt trimming and a leather and shell tie. Inside piece is made of purple and magenta felt, with hand cut and sewn felt animals on each pocket. Bottom features a purple fringe. The animal on the first panel is a deer with colorful beaded antlers and white accents. The animal on the second panel is an owl with yellow felt accents and button eyes. The third animal is a bison or buffalo with orange, yellow, and white beaded felt accents. This panel is also affixed with a Santa pin or button. The fourth and final panel is a grey hedgehog with brown beaded accents. Inside of the pouches is a small paper bag with some vintage sewing supplies, along with a small leather pouch containing a shell affixed with a beaded string, and a miniature beaded coin purse that is beaded to look like a lemon slice. This is an interesting, small collection that was clearly well loved and handmade by someone. It needs a good cleaning, and the shell has a broken edge, but otherwise the whole set is in good condition. The sewing kit would look great on display or would be perfect for continued use.
